Explanation of heart disease - It is usually characterised by coronary artery disease, in which the plaque is built up leading to inflammation and endothelial deterioration resulting in blood vessel damage. As the blood vessel damages the he has to work much harder to continually pump blood through the body. The artery starts harden and the blood pressure increases which in turn is a leading risk factor for the coronary artery damage.

The continuous inflammatory process in the arteries due to the plaque deposition lead to the rupture of plaques and blood clots enter the blood stream, get lodged in the blood vessels and block blood flow. This may lead to heart attack, arrhythmia (electrical instability due to sudden loss of oxygen) and stroke.

In the whole cardio vascular disease incidence, congenital developmental heart diseases are also there but rare in occurrence.

Risks of developing the heart disease -  Along with the congenital and family history certain factors like

STRESS

LIFESTYLE OF THE PERSON

NUTRITION

Plays a very important role.

Is cholesterol a real culprit?

Cholesterol is needed by the body for cellular repair, synthesis of cell membranes and hormones for growth and digestion.

Lipoproteins carry cholesterol through our blood stream (low density lipoproteins) is commonly referred to has bad cholesterol, while HDL (high density lipoproteins) is usually called good cholesterol.

LDL carries cholesterol to cells in need while HDL removes excess cholesterol from the blood stream and returns it to the liver.

The high level of LDL leads to depositing itself in the blood vessel walls and contributing to the plaque formation.

Trans fats produce high level of LDL and reduces HDL level.

PREVENTION OF HEART DISEASE

Regular exercise-Helps in increasing HDL level, manage our weight and stress.

Healthy and nutritious balanced diet-Consuming more soluble fibre, as well as monounsaturated and omega-3 fats. Anti-inflammatory diet and maintaining a healthy weight are crucial for preventing heart disease and other inflammation related diseases.

An over worked heart needs more energy and supplementing the Co enzyme Q10, L- carnitine- ribose and magnesium can boost energy production in heart cells and heal themselves.

Stress management- Stress leads to Autonomic nervous system imbalance can lead to high blood pressure and other causes of heart disease.

Yoga and meditation helps in detoxifying mind and body and t which in turn reduces the chances of cardiovascular diseases.
